- When selecting a planting location, aim for partial shade to dappled sunlight. Renaissance™ boxwoods can tolerate full sun, but in warmer climates, they benefit from afternoon shade to avoid heat stress. Ideally, the plant performs best with 4-6 hours of morning light. In areas with heavy shade, the shrub may develop a more open growth habit with less dense foliage.
